Professor of social work Donna Chung will be in Newman next month for a series of events around family and domestic violence to mark International Women’s Day (IWD).
Newman Women’s Shelter is hosting Professor Chung for an IWD breakfast seminar on 8 March at 7.30am at The Square & The Edge.
Newman Women’s Shelter, in partnership with EPIS, Martumili, Newman Youth Centre and Newman Neighbourhood Centre, will showcase the NWS Clothesline Project at the breakfast seminar, aimed at raising awareness of family and domestic violence.
Professor Chung will also lead workshops on social work practice, with a session on trauma-informed practice on 8 March from 1-4pm, and one on response-based practice on 9 March from 9am to 12 noon, both at The Edge.

Professor Chung is the Head of Social Work in the School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work at Curtin University and has been involved in social work education and social research for over 20 years, undertaking teaching, research and management roles within higher education.
