Reconciliation Australia and ABC Radio have joined together for an hour of deadly music as part of National Reconciliation Week 2020.
Host Christine Anu is one of Australia’s most popular recording artists and performers of all time who uses her voice and reputation to spread a message of unity and hope. A prominent voice of multicultural Australia, Christine enjoys using her public profile as a platform to advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, amongst many others.
Joining Christine, a proud Torres Strait Islander woman and multi-award-winning recording artist on her show will be deadly guests:
- Karen Mundine, CEO of Reconciliation Australia and a Bundjalung Nation woman, who over the course of her career has been instrumental in some of Australia’s watershed national events
- Busby Marou, one of Australia’s hardest working live bands, best known for their distinctly Australian storytelling and who are proud of where they have come from, but more importantly proud of who they’ve become. The modern face of Australia.
- Alice Skye, a Wergaia/Wemba Wemba woman, and one of Australia’s brightest new talents. Alice is inspired by her roots and says, "I take great pride in my heritage and to combine both music and my background brings me an unexplainable amount of pride and happiness.”
- Jimblah, a producer, MC and vocalist hailing from Larrakia Nation in Top End Northern Territory, a triple threat in his own lane. An important and powerful voice, Jimblah’s music speaks to decolonisation, challenging listeners to consider their privilege and responsibility.
