We all have a part to play to keep our local businesses and economy strong during this time. Let’s work together to achieve a prosperous future.
The Shire of East Pilbara, BHP, the Newman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and others are investing in a range of initiatives aimed at supporting local businesses. Learn how you can get involved today.
East Pilbara Dollars
The Shire of East Pilbara’s East Pilbara Dollars Project aims to regenerate the local economy by offering incentives to spend at local businesses which have lost revenue due to COVID-19. The Shire will purchase gift cards or vouchers from participating businesses and distribute these vouchers to the community as East Pilbara Dollars to spend at these businesses.
BHP/C-Res Gift Voucher
The Local Buying Program (LBP) provides opportunities for small, local eligible businesses based within BHP host communities in the Pilbara region. The LBP makes it simpler and easier for these businesses to competitively bid for supply opportunities that are released by BHP’s Western Australia Iron Ore operations. The LBP is delivered in partnership between BHP and C-Res.
Businesses which employ fewer than 20 full-time equivalent employees and have a significant physical presence in an eligible area, or are BHP considered Aboriginal Traditional Owner businesses, are encouraged to register today.
